Kayden Jordan, Ph.D.
I am currently an Assistant Professor of Social Analytics at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. I recently completed my Ph.D. in Social-Personality Psychology at University of Texas at Austin and my M.S. in Experimental Psychology at Missouri State University . My interests include language, political psychology, political communication, big data, and research methodology. I contribute to the Wordwatchers blog which has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post. My research program is centered on two major questions. First, what can language tell us about the thought processes and psychological traits of political leaders? Second, how do the psychological aspects of political language impact peoples’ political attitudes and everyday behaviors? Central to my research program is a methodological focus on cutting edge, quantitative, automated language analysis for exploring large quantities of political text. I seek to apply the findings and theories of social science and psychology to understand political leaders and political systems through language. |
